Indulgence for body and mind
Floatation therapy in Lincoln
A little peace and quiet can be hard to come by. At Lincoln Performance and Recovery Clinic, floatation therapy gives you space to switch off, away from screens, noise and the demands of everyday life.
You lie back in warm water containing a high concentration of Epsom salt, which supports your body at the surface. With less pressure against your body and fewer distractions around you, there’s nothing to do and nowhere else you need to be.
Why people choose to float
Some people visit to unwind after a busy week; others make floating part of their recovery routine alongside training or physical work.
Common reasons for booking include:
- Taking a break from everyday stress.
- Enjoying quiet time without interruptions.
- Finding a comfortable space to rest.
- Unwinding after exercise.
- Creating time for relaxation before a restful evening.
Everyone experiences floating differently. Some settle quickly, while others need a little time to get used to the stillness. There’s no special technique to master and no particular feeling you need to achieve.
How often should you float?
You can book an occasional float when you need some breathing space or make it a regular appointment with yourself.
Your first session is an opportunity to become familiar with the environment. A few visits may help you discover your preferences, but there’s no compulsory course or fixed number of sessions needed to enjoy the experience.
What happens during a session?
We’ll show you the float room, explain the controls and answer any questions before leaving you in privacy.
After showering, you enter the water and gently lie back. The salt supports you, so there’s no swimming or effort required to stay afloat.
We’ll explain the lighting and lid options available, along with how to contact us if you need assistance. You remain in control and can finish your session at any time.
At the end, take another shower to rinse away the salt before getting dressed. Give yourself a few unhurried minutes before heading back into your day.
What to bring and how to prepare
Bring any personal toiletries you’d like to use afterwards and a contact lens case if needed. We’ll confirm what’s provided and explain clothing options when you book.
Avoid shaving or waxing shortly before your appointment, as salt water can sting freshly irritated skin. Let us know about cuts, skin conditions, recent tattoos or any health concerns before your visit so we can check suitability.
You don’t need meditation experience or the ability to empty your mind. Turn up, get comfortable and give yourself permission to pause.
Your time to switch off
Our Lincoln team will help you feel at ease from the moment you arrive. Whether floating becomes a regular ritual or an occasional escape from a hectic week, we’ll make the experience welcoming, straightforward and entirely at your pace.
