Hyperbaric oxygen therapy in Lincoln
Settle into a comfortable chamber, take a break from the demands of the day and let our team look after your session. At Lincoln Performance and Recovery Clinic, we make hyperbaric oxygen therapy approachable, with clear explanations and support from your first visit.
Hyperbaric sessions combine increased air pressure with oxygen delivered through a mask. The pressure matters: both the oxygen concentration you breathe and the pressure inside the chamber contribute to your exposure.
Why people explore hyperbaric sessions
Our clients come with different interests, from recovery around demanding training to making time for their wellbeing. Some enquire following a diagnosis or on the recommendation of a healthcare professional.
The evidence for hyperbaric oxygen therapy varies considerably between conditions. Hospital treatments for specific medical indications may use different pressures, equipment and clinical supervision from those available in a wellbeing setting. We’ll explain what our service provides and be honest about its limitations.
We do not diagnose conditions or replace medical treatment. If your enquiry relates to a health condition, we may ask you to obtain advice from your treating clinician before booking.
How often should you attend?
There is no single course that suits every person or every purpose. Before recommending a routine, we’ll discuss your goals, review your health screening and explain the session options available at Lincoln.
We’ll also check how you feel during and after your appointments. There is no fixed number of sessions that guarantees a result, and we won’t promise otherwise.
What happens during a session?
Before entering, we explain the chamber, communication system and safety procedures. Once you are comfortably seated, the pressure increases gradually.
You may notice a feeling of fullness in your ears, similar to flying. We’ll explain how to equalise them and adjust the process if needed. Tell your operator immediately if you experience pain or difficulty clearing your ears.
During the session, you breathe oxygen through a mask and can relax while our team monitors you. At the end, the chamber returns gradually to normal pressure before you leave.
What to wear and bring
Wear clean, comfortable clothing that meets our chamber’s safety requirements. We’ll provide preparation instructions and explain which personal items must stay outside.
Vapes, smoking materials, lighters and other prohibited items must never enter the chamber. Check with your operator before taking anything inside.
